Straight backs are happy backs! Kånken was designed as early as 1978 to help prevent back problems among Swedish school children. The backpack quickly became a common sight at day-care centers and nature schools around the country. Now, 35 years later, Kånken has straightened millions of backs all over the world and is one of Fjällräven's most popular products. The classic backpack is just as suitable for travelling to and from school or work as it is for trekking and travel.

The material is a strong, lightweight Vinylon F fabric that resists dirt and wetness. The spacious main compartment has a large opening with a zipper, making it easy to pack and unpack. The backpack has two flat side pockets and a zippered pocket on the front, perfect for all those little items you want to have close at hand. The included PE foam seat cushion is stored in the back pocket on the inside, where it also keeps the contents of the backpack from rubbing against your back. The seat cushion is always within reach when you want to sit down and take a break, wherever you are.
The carrying system is simple but practical and consists of top carry handles and narrow, adjustable shoulder straps. The logo on the front is reflective. There is also an address label on the inside of the main compartment.
