Straight backs are happy backs! Kånken was designed as early as 1978 to help prevent back problems among Swedish schoolchildren. The backpack quickly became a common sight at nurseries and nature schools throughout the country. Now, 35 years later, Kånken has straightened millions of backs across the globe and is one of Fjällräven's most popular products. The classic backpack is just as suitable for going to and from school or work as it is for hiking and travelling.

The material is a strong, lightweight Vinylon F fabric, which resists dirt and wetness. The spacious main compartment has a large opening with a zipper, making it easy to pack and unpack. The backpack has two flat side pockets and a zippered front pocket, perfect for all that stuff you want to have at hand. The included PE foam seat cushion is stored in the inside back pocket, where it also prevents the contents of the backpack from sticking to your back. The seat cushion is always within reach if you want to take a break wherever you are.
The carrying system is simple but practical and consists of handles at the top and narrow, adjustable shoulder straps. The logo on the front is reflective. There is also an address label on the inside of the main compartment.
