An axe for splitting very coarse and knotty wood. The weight of the axe and the strong head with chamfered edges makes it suitable for hitting a splitting wedge.* Is forged and ground to a concave shape with relatively thin blade, making the axe go quickly and easily into the wood. Cleaves effectively because the wider part splits the wood. The handle has a protective steel collar under the axe head and circular grooves toward the end for an extra firm grip.

This splitting hammer is made to hit a wedge. Remember that there is always a risk associated with striking with steel on steel: a steel splinter can come loose and damage an eye, for example. Use safety glasses and appropriate work clothing. Make sure that the sides of the wedge and the head are always angled.

Steel color is different?

Indeed because this is a handmade product, the color of the handle can differ from the picture due to oiling of the handle. This also applies to the grain and to the color of the protective cover.
