This spade is suitable for digging in soil and heavy clay soil. The spade has a swan-neck blade which means that the stem has more firmness because the wood is deep in the house of the swan-neck. This means it cannot break so easily, and can therefore cope with heavier types of soil. The blade of the spade should be inserted straight or almost straight to the edge. Then pull the handle at the shaft backwards to loosen the soil. When you have chosen the right length of the shaft, you stand up straight. Then bend your knees and lift the slanting spade with soil by stretching your knees again. Bending the knees is important to save your back. This spade is equipped with a waxed ash handle of 85cm. The size of the blade is 275x160mm.
