Flint kindling splitter

The Flint kindling splitter is made of high quality cast iron and consists of a knife and stepped element.
The combination of a sharp knife and the lever action of the clipper makes it possible to quickly and above all safely make small kindling for a smooth comfortable fire.
With one hand you operate the knife and with the other hand you hold the log so there is no chance of accidents.
When using a kindling axe, the risk of accidents is considerably higher. In addition, the wood often falls over and one stands with a bent back at the chopping block.

Tips for when you want to buy the tension knife

When ''splitting'' soft woods such as Birch, Lime, Poplar, Willow & softwood species, ''cutting'' will be easier than for example with Oak, Beech, Ash etc.

We also advise to keep the hanging height of the knife low so you can push with your body weight. Length of the maximum wood height is variable but normally no longer than 33cm, if you have shorter pieces you can of course also use the step-shaped element.

Knife basically does not need to be sharpened, if it does get very blunt through heavy use just sharpen it with a whetstone or file.
