The X27 is a cleft axe with a wedge-shaped forged axe head. The head pushes the wood apart and helps to split medium-sized and heavy logs or firewood quickly and effectively. This cleft axe is a full size axe which is intended to be used a lot and intensively.

Traditionally, an axe has a wooden handle. Fiskars has decided that an old type of tool like an axe can also be improved. The fibreglass reinforced plastic FiberComp handle of a Fiskars axe is stronger than a wooden handle. Tests show that where a wooden handle breaks, the FiberComp handle cuts through without any problems. The axe head is integrated in the haft and will therefore not come loose from the haft. The handle absorbs vibrations and increases grip and comfort during chopping. Fiskars is so convinced of the quality of this concept that it has provided the axes with a lifetime warranty.

The axe head has a smooth coating that makes it easier to get the axe out of wood. This coating is very durable. The price of these axes is relatively low, the life span and quality can compete with much more expensive competitors.
