The Black Fox Vesuvius is a robust yet elegant Italian outdoor knife. The blade is made of D2. This type of steel is known for its toughness, sharpness retention and durability, making it an excellent choice for an all-around outdoor knife. The blade is finished in a satin stonewash texture; this provides a modern matted look and reduces unwanted reflections.

The handle is made of highly textured G10, which is a composite material with excellent abrasion resistance, a firm grip (even in wet conditions) and a subtle yet luxurious look. The Vesuvius has a "full-tang" construction with a generous cord eye on the back. The knife comes with a kydex sheath including adjustable belt-mount, a firesteel and paracord.
